Meet Brenton Cruz

This week, we feature Brenton, a highly skilled Solutions Engineer who has been with ATSER for the past five years. Known affectionately in the office as “Fabulous”, Brenton has earned this nickname for his remarkable ability to transform complex technological concepts into aesthetically pleasing and easy-to-understand visuals.
Brenton’s role as a Solutions Engineer is multifaceted, blending a deep understanding of technology with practical solutions for complex client challenges. Whether he’s speaking on a new software solution or working with clients to optimize existing systems, Brenton’s ability to bridge the gap between technology and business needs makes him a vital player in ATSER’s mission.
When asked about his role, Brenton described it as “the perfect balance between systems and client engagement.” He noted, “I get to work closely with clients to understand their specific pain points and then tailor solutions that fit their needs. It’s about finding the best way to make technology work for them, not the other way around.”
The Motivation
Brenton’s drive comes from his passion for technology and solving real-world problems. “What motivates me the most is the challenge of finding solutions that make a real impact. Seeing a client’s operations improve or a problem resolved through something I helped develop is incredibly rewarding,” he explained.
His work involves everything from designing efficient system architectures to troubleshooting technical issues, always with an eye toward creating scalable, sustainable solutions. Brenton thrives on the collaborative nature of his job, working closely with developers, clients, and project managers to ensure the best outcomes.
Favorite Projects
One of Brenton’s favorite projects involved implementing a custom solution for a major infrastructure client. “We had to integrate several legacy systems into a modern, unified platform. It was technically challenging but ultimately rewarding because it streamlined their entire workflow and reduced downtime significantly,” he shared. His technical expertise and innovative approach to problem-solving were instrumental in the project’s success.
The Inspiration Behind Success
Brenton finds inspiration from the ever-evolving nature of technology and from those he works with. “I’m always learning something new, whether it’s a cutting-edge tool or a unique client challenge. Working with a team that’s just as passionate about technology and innovation inspires me to keep pushing boundaries,” he said.
He credits much of his growth to mentors like Mark Knight (SME, NICET IV), who encouraged him to embrace new challenges and to stay curious. “One of the best pieces of advice I’ve received is to always ask questions and never stop learning. The more you understand, the better equipped you are to find solutions.”

Looking ahead, Brenton is excited to continue developing ATSER’s capabilities, particularly in areas like cloud-based solutions and advanced data integration. He’s also focused on staying ahead of industry trends, ensuring that ATSER remains at the forefront of delivering cutting-edge solutions that drive client success.
