DevOps Engineer – In Office (Houston, TX)

Summary:

At ATSER, we are seeking an experienced and dedicated DevOps Engineer with deep expertise in Azure Cloud Infrastructure and Azure DevOps. This role will play a pivotal part in designing, managing, and maintaining deployment pipelines for a single application serving 50+ customers across Development, Test, Staging, and Production environments.

As a DevOps Engineer, you will own the entire development pipeline lifecycle. Your responsibilities will include ensuring secure, efficient, and reliable application deployments, implementing static code analysis for security, and integrating best practices into all stages of our pipeline.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain robust deployment pipelines in Azure DevOps for multiple environments (Dev, Test, Staging, Production).
  • Leverage Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) to manage containerized applications and deployments.
  • Implement Static Code Testing (e.g., Microsoft Defender for DevOps) to enforce secure coding standards and prevent insecure code releases.
  • Ensure that no code is released without appropriate approvals and compliance checks.
  • Integrate environmental variables to securely inject secrets and configurations using Azure Key Vault.
  • Optimize infrastructure performance and scalability using various Azure Services such as PostgreSQL on Azure, Azure WAF, Azure Application Gateway, and Azure Communication Services.
  • Monitor and improve security postures by enforcing secure deployment practices.
  • Work closely with development and QA teams to troubleshoot, resolve, and prevent pipeline issues.
  • Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform or Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates.
  • Automate deployment workflows to maximize efficiency and minimize manual intervention.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience with Azure DevOps, including creating and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
  • 5 years of DevOps experience
  • Bachelors Dregree
  • Hands-on expertise with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) and container orchestration.
  • Strong knowledge of Static Code Analysis tools and processes, including Microsoft Defender for DevOps.
  • Experience working with PostgreSQL on Azure and Azure Key Vault.
  • Deep understanding of deployment pipelines using environmental variables for secrets and configurations.
  • Familiarity with Azure WAF, Application Gateway, and other Azure security services.
  • Strong focus on security, with experience implementing secure coding and deployment practices.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure principles, including scalability, reliability, and disaster recovery.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with additional Azure services such as Azure Communication Services.
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform.
  • Experience with logging and monitoring tools (e.g., Azure Monitor, Log Analytics).
