Meet Chuck

Here at ATSER, we value hard work and dedication. Being in business for over thirty years has given us the opportunity to form relationships with the most unique individuals. Our Employee Spotlight column showcases some of our most talented and trusted team members. Chuang-Tsair Shih, who prefers to go by “Chuck” has been an SME Systems Manager and devoted employee of ATSER Engineering for over 25 years.

When asked to describe his position, he claimed that it could be “very diverse” at times. He is involved in various areas of the company, including but not limited to, laboratory testing activities, technical paper writing, tech support/help desk, and client system training. With a great appreciation for teamwork, he depicted his team as “very talented” in their special skill, with a “good attitude and friendly manner”. He continued to discuss the good nature of his fellow co-workers and how there is never any hesitation to lend a helping hand.

The Motivation

Chuck explained how he has always been motivated by the desire to help others. His expertise has gone on to have a positive impact on not only the ATSER team, but also our loyal clients. Being able to have such an impact provides him with a sense of fulfillment. Staying true to the ATSER way, Chuck can also appreciate a good challenge. Additionally, he states: “I receive great satisfaction after completing a challenging task.” and that this is also his motivation.

When discussing his favorite projects, he claimed that the system’s deployment on Utah I-15, Colorado T-REX projects, and HCTRA PMIS have been the highlights of his career, so far.

The Inspiration Behind Success

Chuck has found inspiration throughout the years while crossing paths with many remarkable individuals. His career was inspired by the Teacher’s Assistant of his college freshman class. The TA shared many positive construction experiences, that inspired him to pursue this industry. He also credited Mr. Bob Bledsoe, the former ATSER president. Along with, Dr. Fred Martinez, ATSER’s CEO, who is “always so energetic and confident”. Dr. Martinez’s ambition and determination, along with his desire never to stop learning, has influenced him greatly over the years.

The most valuable piece of advice Chuck could provide to someone who has just begun their career was to “work hard and smart” and to “learn the best from each colleague.” His current goals include helping team members learn the industry and to reach their maximum potential. He is also determined to assist ATSER in achieving substantial growth over the coming years.

ATSER was formed in 1993 with the idea of building on true real-time information with true real-time individuals. Chuck is an embodiment of our value of continuous learning and dedication. We are privileged that he has made ATSER his home for growth and discovery.
